Propspeed has indicated that Adria Ferries experienced a 2-3% decrease in fuel consumption on its passenger ferry, the AF MIA. This reduction followed the application of Propspeed coatings to the vessel's propeller blades, as reported by Bunkerspot.
Adria Ferries applied the Propspeed coatings in March. An internal analysis conducted by the ferry company revealed that the AF MIA subsequently consumed approximately 0.6-0.7 tonnes less fuel per crossing on average.
The operator estimated that the vessel saved around 56 tonnes of fuel during the initial three months after the application of the coatings. The AF MIA is capable of transporting up to 1,528 passengers and 819 vehicles per trip.
