Alkagesta, a global commodity trading house based in Malta, convened its 2025 Group Town Hall in Istanbul, Turkiye, bringing together 167 colleagues. The forum provided a consolidated view of the company's operational progress in 2025, reinforcing cohesion across its diverse global platform and aligning teams on forward priorities.

Senior leadership guided participants through a review of 2025, a year marked by volatile energy markets, evolving trade flows, and increasing regulatory complexity. The company reported that disciplined execution, robust governance, and cross-functional collaboration underpinned its continued growth and resilience during this period.

A key strategic achievement highlighted was the formal launch of a dedicated Biofuels Desk in 2025, positioning Alkagesta within the global transition towards lower-carbon energy solutions. This initiative aims to strengthen its participation in renewable and transitional marine fuel supply chains for shipping, industrial, and energy clients.

The company also diversified its portfolio by formally entering the metals market with steel trading and establishing a Naphtha Book, executing its first LR shipment from the Mediterranean to the Far East. Geographically, Alkagesta exported its first 130,000-metric-ton fuel oil cargo from Nigeria, establishing West Africa as a strategic sourcing region.

Further expansion included strengthening its position as a fertilizer exporter in Egypt and increasing its footprint in Singapore with investments in liquid storage capacity and marine distribution. Alkagesta also reported increased middle-distillate volumes and expanded petroleum activities across Eastern Europe, diversifying its customer base.

Orkhan Rustamov, Founder & CEO of Alkagesta, stated that the Town Hall reaffirmed the company's commitment to transparency, alignment, and long-term value creation. He emphasised the importance of teams remaining connected to the company's strategy and shared purpose as it continues to scale globally.
