GTT Marine, a division of the GTT Group, has introduced Bridge Operations Quality Assurance (BOQA), a new capability within Safety Insights by Danelec. This development aims to extend the utility of Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) data beyond post-incident analysis.
The company stated that BOQA is designed to transform VDR data into a tool for proactive and continuous safety improvements. This marks a shift from reactive investigations to a more forward-looking approach in maritime operations.
The introduction of BOQA is taking place at SMM 2026 in Hamburg. According to GTT Marine, the system automatically analyses VDR data, providing insights that can contribute to ongoing safety enhancements.
This new capability is intended to support maritime operators in identifying trends and potential risks before incidents occur, thereby fostering a culture of preventative safety measures across their fleets.
